I needed a exercise mat for working out with kettlebell and weights most of the mats on the market are to small and don’t provide enough padding for your ankles and knees during a hard workout .
I found the Miramat to be a good combination of strength and cushioning and it doesn’t slip on the hard floor surface the top of the mat has a micro texture to provide grip but make sure to wipe away any moisture such as sweat or water spills from a drink bottle otherwise you can slip in those conditions.
You will find it hard to find a workout mat on the Australian market that competes with Miramat the closest I could find was a brand called Gorrilla mats in the USA but shipping would make it to costly and Miramat is designed almost identical anyway.

Absolutely delighted with this mat. My workout space is in the garage and I have foam interlocking mats as a base for my gym mat to keep me off the cold, concrete floor. With my standard mat on top, I was having problems with lunges, plank jacks and other moves that take you partly off the mat because the interlocking mats don’t always stay interlocked. I found myself having to stop mid workout to make adjustments and holding back from going all out in case it pulled the base mats apart. The Very Large Miramat solves all these problems. It’s big enough that I never have to step off the mat and it doesn’t budge at all. The grippy surface is fantastic so I’m able to work out harder than before without fear of slipping. I’d read that it might take a couple of weeks to bed in but it was brilliant straight away. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Ok, so it’s not the most glamorous set up but it does the trick! I was doing high impact aerobics on the concrete floor and the Miramat has been great for reducing the impact and absorbing some of the shock. I needed something I could pack away, as the space is still needed as a garage. The mat moves around very little, certainly not noticeably during use - I sometimes find it’s shifted a bit when I look at it at the end of a workout. (But I jump around a lot!).

Amazing mat. It is soft enough to lie on and stretch and do yoga, while also tough and durable to handle weights, kettlebells, etc.
My dogs even play on it a lot and it doesn’t scratch, any marks wipe right off.

I thought I would conserve my review after an extended time. And these Mats do not disappoint. Very resilient and are extremely versatile to any application in mind. The mat is perfect for my dog who has a bulging disc. It helps her legs be stable when standing. Its heavy so doesnt slip and a great size. I took a photo of what the used at the vets and it was Miramat! I am recommending the mats to all my dog owner friends and the dog food supply places. Summer (my kelpie) has myotherapy, animal chirpractor and accupuncture, so i have told all those practitioners how wonderful the mats are also. Highly recommend. Good price for what it is. :-)

This is a premium mat, worth every cent. I’ve had it for 2 months now and used it for strength workouts, cardio and yoga. It is spacious and does not move and slide on the tiled floors. Sweat dries off quickly too. It has been a great upgrade my old worn out circular mat.

I would have given this 4.5 stars if I could - the only downside is that it is very firm. On our concrete floors, it doesn’t offer a lot of comfort! I bought a Miramat for my small home gym and it’s perfect! I mainly use it for Pilates and weight based mat exercises and it is soft enough that I don’t need extra support under my back. The Miramat is a very well made gym mat and delivery was super quick too.

It is great grip on top even with sweaty palms. Easy to clean. I use it for bodyweight HIIT workouts without shoes.
The size is perfect for anything from burpees with plenty of spare space to spider crawls as you can go backwards and forwards a few feet without going off the mat. I am 5’7.
It doesn’t curl up at all on the edges which is a pet peeve from previous mats I had.
My dog also uses it for sun baking during the day
Only annoying thing is that the mat does move on the carpet when I am doing movements like burpees and high knees, so I need to reposition it every 5 min. It’s only really annoying I guess if you use the mat as a guide to how straight you are when it’s on a slight angle. I will try and get some sort of grip mat like from ikea to put under the mat to try and stop it from moving . I imagine on hard surfaces this is probably not an issue though.
Either way I’d definitely buy again, and probably get more in future when I can deck out a gym further or a smaller mat for if I go away.
Also The shipping was super fast and the customer service team was very helpful in organising it as I live in a rural regional area and they made sure courier was aware when I’d be home etc. it arrived faster than express aus post for a small parcel!

Best workout mat I've ever had.. Doesn't slip across the floor when your moving around on it.
It looks smart, lays perfectly flat, and so far, my weights and bench don't leave indentations in the surface. The size is also what really makes these mats so practically useable. I can get all of my weights and workout bench onto this mat, with room to move. it Does an awesome job of protecting the carpet, too.
Although I was kinda hesitant to spent £159 on a workout mat ... It is absolutely worth the cost. I've had many over the years that have not been cheap to buy, and start to suffer wear and tear very rapidly.
